The other day, I saw a lady with a shirt that read, "Pizza is life." First off, who comes up with these amazing, graphic tees? And where can I get one? But seriously, give me a pizza and a refreshing (adult) beverage and I'm a happy camper! Add in friends and a lovely venue a la Thirteen Pies, and that's a winning recipe in my book!
Thirteen Pies comes to Buckhead Atlanta from the great state of Texas (hook 'em)! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a delightful aroma of wood fired pies (aka pizza) and pasta. As we took our seat at the table, we were soon welcomed by the woman of the hour Miss Erica Key (of
Eating with Erica)! Giving us an idea of what to expect, my mouth instantly began to water. Who am I kidding? My mouth starts watering at the mention of pizza. But at Thirteen Pies, they offer more than your typical pizza joint. Their menu boasts appetizers such as the renowned baked goat cheese (
to die for), chef-driven salads, house-made pastas, thirteen different pies, ranging in flavors and fresh toppings and last but not least, seasonal desserts (
get the mascarpone -- it's like ice cream & cheesecake made a baby).

The Iberian is hands down my favorite pie on the menu! With fresh fennel salami, smoked provolone, soffritto, castelvetrano olive, yellow tomato & old manchego -- your group must order this one. Plus, Thirteen Pies offers gluten-free versions, as well! I see you gluten-free readers doing a happy dance! It's always nice to have restaurants that do their best to accommodate those with this popular allergy (or preference).

Are you hungry yet? Because after looking back at the photos from our dinner, I'm itching to get back to Thirteen Pies ASAP! With a full belly and happy heart, we snagged a group shot (because if you don't take a picture -- it didn't happen)!
Always great when our group of foodies can get together and explore a new menu! What are some of your new spots around Atlanta? Use the #KaleMeKelly on Twitter or tag me on Instagram @kalemekelly, so I can see your picks!

Be sure to check out
Thirteen Pies for lunch, too. They're offering 20% off your meal when you dine in during your lunch break! What a steal. Bonus, they're offering the same deal at their sister restaurant
American Food and Beverage (located in Buckhead Atlanta, as well)!
Bon appétit!
CRISPY ARTICHOKE HEARTS?!! NEED! I need to go here, so sad to miss this event! Can we have a girl date here?

There are SO scrumdiddlyumptious (yes, I really just used that word)! And the dipping sauce is TO DIE FOR! Is that a rhetorical question? Because the answer is always going to be YES!
